Can I set an expiration date for proposals?

Yes! This can be done on EverBright. Any user with organization admin permissions can set the number of days a proposal would be valid from the date of creation.

You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Choose Proposal Phase on the left panel.

  3. Make sure you're on the Defaults tab.

  4. Click Edit

  5. If it is turned off, you'll be prompted to turn it on first by clicking on the text "Turn On"

  6. Set the number of days.

  7. Click Save

The maximum number of days you can set your template to expire is 180 days, or around 6 months.

What will happen if I open an expired proposal?

Let's assume that we have set a 30-day expiration for all proposals in our organization. When you open a job's proposal phase, you will see the Proposal's creation date:

We can see here that this was created on January 24, 2020. Thus, if we open this proposal and click Generate, Preview PDF or E-mail on February 27, 2020 (more than 30 days after), this is what we will see:

To fix this and generate a new proposal. Simply re-create the quote on the quote phase. Then go back to the Proposal phase, click + New Proposal on the upper left side, add the new quote. You now have a new proposal!
